وَقِيلَ يَٰٓأَرْضُ ٱبْلَعِى مَآءَكِ وَيَٰسَمَآءُ أَقْلِعِى وَغِيضَ ٱلْمَآءُ وَقُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ وَٱسْتَوَتْ عَلَى ٱلْجُودِىِّ وَقِيلَ بُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Why this meaning was chosen

The plural adjective جِيَاد characterizes Sulaiman's horses as excellent performers. The definite جُودِيّ is instead a proper place name on which the ark settles. Quran-internal substitution between qualitative predication and a unique location fails, so the proper name receives an exact lexical-collision branch rather than being forced into the root core.
