21:30

أَوَلَمْ يَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًا فَفَتَقْنَٰهُمَا وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ حَىٍّ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

Why this meaning was chosen

The sole target is a first-person-plural Form I perfect with the heavens and earth as its dual object. The preceding predicate رَتْقًا gives their prior joined state, making the target the contrasting act that opens them apart.
