وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِى ٱلْأَوْتَادِ

Why this meaning was chosen

All targets are the plural أَوْتَاد. Mountains are directly predicated as stakes, supplying the concrete anchoring image. Pharaoh is twice called possessor of the stakes; the Quran does not specify their local use, so the artifact retains the concrete noun without importing a tent, army, or punishment interpretation.
