لَّقَدْ كُنتَ فِى غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هَٰذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنكَ غِطَآءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ ٱلْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ
Why this meaning was chosen
Both targets concern sight. In 18:101 eyes are within a غِطَاء that keeps them from remembrance; in 50:22 removal of the possessed غِطَاء immediately makes vision sharp. Indefiniteness, possession, and case do not divide the perceptual-covering core.
