Why this meaning was chosen
The two Form I contexts mutually identify pressing fruit for drink. إِعْصَار is a destructive wind phenomenon, مُعْصِرَات are the source from which abundant water descends, and the lone oath noun عَصْر denotes a period of time. The Quran supplies no explicit derivational bridge from those three nominal applications to fruit pressing, so each is conservatively isolated as a lexical collision.
