17:23

وَقَضَىٰ رَبُّكَ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِيَّاهُ وَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ إِحْسَٰنًا إِمَّا يَبْلُغَنَّ عِندَكَ ٱلْكِبَرَ أَحَدُهُمَآ أَوْ كِلَاهُمَا فَلَا تَقُل لَّهُمَآ أُفٍّ وَلَا تَنْهَرْهُمَا وَقُل لَّهُمَا قَوْلًا كَرِيمًا

93:10

وَأَمَّا ٱلسَّآئِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ

Why this meaning was chosen

All fifty-seven نَهَار occurrences identify the day period: it alternates, interpenetrates, or contrasts with night, and is made for visibility, livelihood, and extended activity.
