34:14

فَلَمَّا قَضَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ ٱلْمَوْتَ مَا دَلَّهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَوْتِهِۦٓ إِلَّا دَآبَّةُ ٱلْأَرْضِ تَأْكُلُ مِنسَأَتَهُۥ فَلَمَّا خَرَّ تَبَيَّنَتِ ٱلْجِنُّ أَن لَّوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ ٱلْغَيْبَ مَا لَبِثُوا۟ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْمُهِينِ

Why this meaning was chosen

ٱلنَّسِيء names the calendrical practice of moving sacred status between years. مِنسَأَة instead names Sulaiman's physical support, which an earth creature eats before he falls. The Quranic frames do not expose a shared substitutable meaning, so the concrete instrument is retained as an exact lexical collision rather than deriving it from external etymology.
