19:16

وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مَرْيَمَ إِذِ ٱنتَبَذَتْ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا مَكَانًا شَرْقِيًّا

19:22

فَحَمَلَتْهُ فَٱنتَبَذَتْ بِهِۦ مَكَانًا قَصِيًّا

Why this meaning was chosen

All 12 occurrences were compared. Form I casts covenants and scripture out of operative regard, returns a pact openly to its other party, and physically casts objects or people into the sea, open ground, or punishment. Form VIII makes Mary withdraw herself into a separate place. Abstract repudiation, physical expulsion, and reflexive withdrawal preserve one separation-producing core.
